Signia Ventures is a venture capital firm formed in December 1999 by Rick Thompson and Larry Braitman, the founders of Flycast Communications. Headquartered in San Mateo, the firm invests in Internet startups based primarily in Northern California. Signia Ventures focuses on innovative business models and leverages its investments by providing management assistance and other strategic resources to its portfolio companies. Signia Ventures partners have extensive experience in early stage investing and portfolio management. Most importantly, the partners have substantial entrepreneurial experience, having created and built a multibillion dollar Internet company. The firm's goal is to leverage that experience, along with capital and vision, to help Signia Venture's portfolio companies become tomorrow's leaders in the new Internet economy.
