Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1970 that funds and advocates for research aimed at curing, preventing, and treating type 1 diabetes (T1D). Through initiatives such as its venture-philanthropy T1D Fund, the organization also makes equity investments in companies developing T1D-related therapies.
