Fonds Innovation Défense (FID) is a French investment vehicle launched in 2018 to back innovative start-ups and SMEs developing technologies considered strategic for France’s armed forces. The fund co-invests alongside public and private investors and had already deployed roughly €80 million across about ten companies while targeting a size of around €300 million. It is managed by Bpifrance and operates under the French Ministry of the Armed Forces’ innovation division.
