EXIST Transfer of Research is a German nationwide funding programme that supports outstanding, research-oriented start-up projects emerging from universities and research institutes. Run under the broader EXIST initiative, the programme provides two funding phases: first to further develop research results with start-up potential and second to finance the actual company foundation. Its goal is to increase the number of high-technology start-ups by supplying financial resources and coaching during the transition from laboratory proof-of-principle to market-ready products.
