Credit Guarantee Fund provides credit guarantees against associated institutions, situations of intervention, and extrajudicial liquidation of an associated institution. It also allows the central bank to recognise the insolvency of a bank that is not subject to the regimes referred to in the previous item but is under the terms of the relevant legislation. The employment of assistance or financial support operations is also done with the intention of maintaining the stability of the national financial system and preventing systemic banking crises.
